It’s been a moment since so many players from just the two clubs joined together in the pool. Enough people where there to populate two fields at the same time where junior (or less experienced) players battled out in one field and the more experienced players on the other.
While players worked their tactics and hoped the workouts in the past couple weeks served them in the pool, some also made good use of the game to exercise the refereeing. Water polo is one of those sports where the referee plays a fundamental role. Sharp eyes and quick thinking while at the same time following the rules of water polo is something that anybody can learn, but to master it you need to referee games, lots of games.

Hopefully by the time we meet again the pool staff at Laugardalslaug will have sorted the excessive chlorine issue. Pure luck and good fate was possibly the only reason yours truly managed to drive home with red teary eyes.
